About Me

I am Han Zhou who has recently graduated from MSc student at UCL, majoring in Language Science (Neuroscience). I studied at Shanghai Jiao Tong University with BA in German, also minoring in AI. Currently, I am on the CMB Graduate Program at HSBC, taking the position of Risk Data Analyst. I am interested in applying technical skills like data analysis into the financial world to solve realistic problems, such as mitigating risks for customers and helping the business growth with data analytics.

I have developed strong abilities in data analysis, and have applied such analystic skills in my internships at several leading Internet companies. I worked as NLP PO at AI-LAB at ByteDance for over 4 months and Text-To-Speech (TTS) Linguistic Data Intern at the data team of AI Center at Ximalaya, also a top Internet company in China. During these internships, I have successfully combined my expertise in linguistic theoretical knowledge as well as my edge in language with business and technical projects of the companies, assisting the upgrade and improvement of some hit products, such as live captioning function of TikTok. In the Data Science & Analytical Virtual Program at BCG, I have also applied CRISP-DM Model and diagnosed the customers’ churn rate with data modelling.

I am also curious about everything new and dedicated to improving my skills. I have attended several workshops to improve my data analytic skills. During undergraduate study, I have also selected courses such as Probability and Statistics, Calculus, as well as some programming courses like AI Programming Framework, Introduction to AI, and Natural Language Processing. In this way, I have enhanced my mathematical and computational abilities. Recently, I have been working on the IBM Certificate of Data Scienctist.

Moreover, I’m a people person. I get my energy from meeting different people. As the leader of the Public Relations Department during my undergraduate study, I have utilized my interpersonal skills to keep in touch with officers at International Organizations all over the world and invite them to give a lecture on campus, thus holding a university-wide Training Camp and gaining great influence. I believe such people skills and experience would also be extremely useful when I start projects with new clients at your team.
